So you think you have what it takes to be a part of the MCM family?

 

Tryouts for the 2015-2016 season will take place in May 2015 on Monday May 18 from 4:00-6:00 pm and Tuesday May 19 from 4:00-7:30 pm. Monday tryouts will consist of learning material and working on jumps while Tuesday will focus on tumbling skills, stunts and tryouts in front of judges. Team selections will be made on Tuesday evening with a parent meeting after tryouts. Please contact us by email at mcmallstars@gmail.com if you have any questions. 

 

To prepare for tryouts you should work on your motions, jumps and any tumbling skills you already have. Cheer technique classes through MCM are a great place to start if you want to be a part of the team. Open Gym for tryouts will begin in April and run through the end of May, with team practices beginning in June. While Open Gym is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged to prep you for all star cheerleading, which is much different from school cheerleading. For April and May open gym will be offered Wednesdays 4:00-5:00 pm, Thursdays 4:00-6:00 pm and Fridays 4:00-5:00 pm. The cost is $15 per week or $30 for the entire month (great savings!)

 

 

If you make the team....

 

You've made it through tryouts and now you are a part of the team. Congratulations! Practices will begin in June for the new season to begin learning the routine for the competition season. Every athlete on the team will be upheld to an attendance policy because we need every member at practice in order to build stunts. Cheerleading is a TEAM sport and therefore attendance is a must. Fundraisers will begin as soon as you make the team to help lessen the financial burden that competitive cheerleading can be. More information about all of this will be provided at the parent meeting prior to tryouts.
